Child Safeguarding Statement

RCSI and Humanarium is fully committed to safeguarding the well-being and safety of children with whom we come in to contact through our work. Our Child Safeguarding Statement aims to uphold this commitment by:

  • Creating and maintaining an environment which aims to ensure, insofar as possible, that children who take part in Humanarium activities are safe from harm.
  • Assessing Humanarium activities to identify potential risks for harm to participating children.
  • Setting out and implementing clear procedures for dealing with child safeguarding concerns.
  • Adopting best practice standards for working with children.
  • Providing clear guidance and training for staff in the application of these procedures and practices.
  • Appointing Designated Liaison Persons and Child Safeguarding Officers responsible for upholding child safety and ensuring reporting procedures are followed.

The  Child Safeguarding Statement is supported by additional RCSI policies and procedures including the Child Welfare and Protection Policy, Garda Vetting Policy, and Recruitment Policy.

A copy of the Child Safeguarding Statement is held at the Humanarium reception desk and is available to view on request.
